Carolyn Simpson Wells, b.s. Dance education

Ms. Carolyn has trained as a dancer since the age of 3 in all styles of dance. She performed as a Radio City Rockette (6 years), on Holland America Cruise Ships, and in multiple musicals across the country. Carolyn has also judged for Showstopper Dance Competition and Kinetix on Tour. She is married and started the dance studio as a safe and family oriented studio for her daughter and sons. Every decision made for the studio comes from her background as a teacher, performer, judge, and mother.

Katherine Shane

Creative Director, Foundations Director,Ballet Corps Choreographer, Teacher

Ms. Kat grew up dancing in New Braunfels where she was a member of the Canyon High School Aristocats. She went on to Kilgore College where she was a member of the Kilgore Rangerettes. Ms. Kat completed her Associate of Arts and began teaching ballet in Longview. She returned to New Braunfels in 2008 where she continued to teach at local studios. She is married to the love of her life, Paul, and has 6 children with whom she shares her passion for dance and performing.

Ms. Quinn started dancing at her mother’s studio as soon as she could walk. She explored a variety of dance styles and appreciates how each has helped her grow in different areas of her training. Her mother recently retired after 27 years of dance studio ownership. During 6 of those years, she had the opportunity to co-own the studio with her mother, writing the Ballet syllabus and directing 12 performances. Ms. Quinn has performed with The Sacramento Ballet, Crockett-Deane Ballet Company, the NBA and NDA. She has taught dance for over 20 years and actively maintains her certification to teach Progressing Ballet Technique. She has 4 children with her husband, Ryan, and their 3 youngest have enjoyed dancing at DbD since 2017.

Scarlet Henninger 

Events Coordinator, Camps Director, teacher

Ms. Scarlet grew up in Seguin where her love for dance started. After specializing in Movement with the Seguin High School Color Guard she switched over to teaching. She is a Disney World enthusiast and her favorite dance style is lyrical. She can always be found surrounded by littles and loves seeing them learn to express themselves through dance.

Bailee Hart

Hip Hop Crews Choreographer, teacher

Ms.Bailee was born and raised in New Braunfels. She started dancing at the age of 5. Bailee first came to Dance by Design in her eighth grade year and was a part of the  Designed to Dance Company for two years and was in Christmas Traditions where she was The Star and Mary. She was a student for 5 years and now she gets to be a teacher! Ms.Bailee is also the Assistant Director of the Designed to Dance Company and Jr.Team and directs the Hip Hop Crew. Her favorite styles of dance are Hip-hop, Musical Theatre, and Contemporary. Ms.Bailee attends Austin Community College. She wants to share her passion of dance with everyone  and be a great role model for young dancers!

Kathleen Coster

Teacher

Ms. Kathleen was born in New Braunfels and started taking ballet at the age of 3. She received most of her training from Ballet San Antonio Academy and Ballet Arts in San Antonio. She was a company dancer for S.A. Metropolitan Ballet from 2002-2003, Ballet San Antonio from 2004-2006, and Alamo Arts Ballet Theatre from 2006-2007. Ms. Kathleen auditioned to be a Character Performer at Walt Disney World and worked there from 2008 until 2015 performing in shows and parades at the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney's Hollywood Studios. In 2016, she moved back to New Braunfels with her husband, Leo.

Danelle Mahler

Ms. Danelle began dancing at the age of 9 and hasn’t stopped since! According to her mom, Ms Danelle begged to dance, before she can even remember. At her first class, it was clear, she was NOT a natural. With hard-work, support from family, and fantastic studio family, her dedication paid off.  Ms Danelle auditioned, attended and graduated from the School of Performing Arts, Commercial Dance department, in CA. It was here she discovered her love of storytelling through movement, and knack for unique and creative choreography.  She danced professionally in LA and parts of Orange County, she has taught and choreographed all over the country.  Ms Danelle values the role the dance studio plays in a students life. During class, she loves hyping her students up, building their confidence, character, and even discipline.  She loves teaching!

Bri Wright

Teacher

Ms. Bri was born and raised in Texas. She started dancing when she was three and has been dancing ever since. Ms. Bri danced a little in all genres but her favorites are contemporary and ballet. Her goal in teaching is to share her love and passion for dance and hopefully create the same in her students.

Sarah fansler

Teacher

Ms. Sarah started dancing at a young age at Dance Expressions School of Dance in Northern California where she studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, Polynesian, and clogging. She later joined Expressions Productions, a pre-professional touring company and had the opportunity to tour locally to Disneyland as well as internationally to Mexico with the World Dance Festival. She has been married for 18 years and has 2 children. The family moved to New Braunfels 3 years ago after her husband retired from the Air Force. She has shared her love of dance in preschools and military youth programs and has a passion for instilling confidence and self worth in today's youth.

EricaBarela

Teacher

Ms. Erica comes to us from Las Vegas, NV where she has been a professional dancer and dance teacher for over twenty years. She taught at a national award winning dance studio where she choreographed competitive students. Erica was awarded Choreographer of the year in 2017 by Kids Artistic Revue. She has been a judge for ten years at National dance competitions throughout the U.S. Erica was a performer in numerous Vegas Casino Shows, Conventions, Trade Shows and Sport events. Erica has performed in other stage productions in Hollywood, CA, New York and Disney Orlando. She began her dance training of ballet, tap and jazz at the age of six in Albuquerque, NM where she was certified in the Cecchetti Method of Ballet and performed in many local stage productions such as The Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol, Annie Get Your Gun and Carousel. Ms. Erica loves teaching and passing on her love for dance to her students.

Ryan Winkler

Born and raised in Burnet, TX, Ms. Ryan grew up dancing at Studio 29! She went on to NYC for her BFA in Commercial Dance at Pace University and has been working in the dance world ever since in multiple different ways-which she is so grateful for. These days Ms. Ryan splits her time between NYC and TX. She love coffee, traveling, doggos, fitness and spending time with her family and friends!

Gina Hernandez

Ms. Gina has lived my entire life in New Braunfels. She has 3 beautiful children with her youngest dancing at the studio. She loves to travel and spend time outdoors. In her spare time she enjoys watching my husband and son performs as musicians.

Melodie Ellis

Ms. Melodie has 4 children and is married to her high school sweetheart. They moved to New Braunfels when her youngest was only 3 days old. She loves spending time with her family and crafting.

Oh and probably should add that her youngest 2 children dance at the studio.
